Context
We’re looking for a Product development Engineer・Project management to support Ciel & Terre Japan team. The position is based in the Tokyo office.
Main Missions
1. Technical support for Sales Japan
- As interface between clients and R&D, for any specific technical question
- Prepare technical documents to present to customers and assist the Sales & Development team in presenting to customers.
- Build the technical offers with the Sales and development team: prepare tender technical documents.
- Provide precise specification to address market needs / requirements inputs to R&D team for new product development.
2. Technical support for R&D France
- Manage design change development:
- Lead technical and industrial feasibilities (design scenario, performances prediction; risks analysis…)
- Ensure prototyping production and validation
- Ensure industrial implementation
- Lead competitive technologies benchmark analysis: latest products from competition, technical offer, potential costing (in link with Purchasing
3. Project Management
- Manage the project flow from contracting, design, procurement of materials, construction of power plants and grid connection of each power plant by collating information from the various departments in charge of the project.
- As a project manager, he/she is responsible for coordination and internal coordination with stakeholders involved.
4. Quality support （to business clients)
- Assist in claim management: analyze claims from a technical point of view, provide timely and detailed technical reports to customers (8D, 5 whys)
- Lead problem solving for claim management and manufacturing troubles in our supplier
- The interface between customer and Quality and Industry manager in terms of quality issue management
- Industry team meeting every week
5. Responsible for New products implementation in Japan
- Document Creation for the promotion on new products (sales activities)
- Manual creation (specific documents creation)
6．Other
- Reporting to the Supervisor on a weekly basis from time to time, the activities.
Your qualifications
Preferred experience and skills
Project management
- Understanding of renewable energy project development cycle.
- Project milestone planning, budget definition and control, task management, team management, bottleneck identification and issue resolving.
- Dealing with external clients, vendors to achieve the project milestone.
Product development
- Understanding of product development lifecycle (Design to mass production), phase gate process, design specifications, industrial feasibility, mass production launch.
- Product cost estimation, optimization through design improvement, design change management.
- Basics of quality control.
Industry specific
- In-depth knowledge of solar power plant design. (Or any other renewable energy)
- Sound understanding of local standards (JIS) and guidelines related to renewable energy. (Especially solar, floating solar)
Analytical and technical due diligence –
- Analytical, scenario analysis, failure analysis, root cause analysis, process improvement, claim management.
- Technical specification documents and relevant writing.
- Issue resolving and strong problem-solving ability.
- Technical discussions and negotiations with clients, external stakeholders.
Software and tools
- Basic data analysis and visualization through graphs and charts.
- CAD (AutoCAD, Solid works)
- PC skills, Office 365 (PowerPoint, Excel (Pivot tables & charts), Mail, etc.)
