Alexis, could you share with us what made you want to join Ciel & Terre as sales manager?

When I saw the job offer I thought “ it’s totally fitting my skills and profile! I would like to join an international and intercultural company, speaking different languages everyday, travel and do something useful for the energy transition.”

What is your role within Ciel & Terre?

On the EMEA area, I am in charge of selling the Hydrelio® (floating system) to companies that develop and build floating photovoltaics islands to produce green energy. I aim to sell a reliable and bankable product that fit the client’s needs. That is why I am trying to have good relationship with customer and always answering them in the best way possible.

Can you describe your typical day as sales manager?

There is no typical day, and I’m really passionate about this!
Each project is different and each company has different needs. But if I have to sum up, it is composed of videocalls, phonecalls, mails and meetings in person when it is feasible. I really want to travel more, come back on the field, not always easy with the pandemic though.

What drives you at work? What do you particularly appreciate in your job as sales manager?

I love to do something different than everyone (floating solar is uncommon) but to be honest, the best part is the company itself. We are composed of different offices worldwide, different people from different cultures. We discuss in English and Spanish but even at the headquarter in France you can ear different languages. Preserve water and produce green energy also drives me for our future. We need to act now!

What do you consider your biggest achievement since you joined the company?

My biggest achievements are contracts’ signature to sell the Hydrelio® and increasing the team in terms of skills and number of people. The market is quite new on our area but big achievements will take place during the forthcoming years within this developing market.

What is the most important thing you have learned from your experience in Ciel & Terre?

The most important thing I learned in Ciel & Terre is managing people, training, improving my skills, and realizing that you can be happy in your work.

According to you, what are Ciel & Terre’s spirit and most important values?

Humanity and authenticity! Communicating with collaborators, taking into account individuals as persons is really important to make everyone motivated and autonomous.

What do you think the future will be like in 10 years?

Floating PV will be implemented in lots of countries worldwide (even more than now) because lots of markets are booming, knowing all the advantages.
And I see myself as a manager of a commercial team on the EMEA area or managing a new office in a country.
Ciel & Terre’s positioning will be stronger and stronger, and the company bigger and bigger.
